Seminar. The Planning Commission and Herndon Community Association Coalition will hold a community seminar to discuss the rewrite of the town’s zoning ordinance, from 7–9 p.m., in the Herndon Town Council Chambers located at 765 Lynn St. Topics to be covered include an overview of why the town is changing the zoning ordinance, how homeowners’ associations and zoning regulations shape neighborhoods, recent significant changes to the zoning ordinance, and the key areas under consideration for change in the zoning ordinance rewrite. The zoning ordinance rewrite is expected to be completed in late 2005 or early 2006, with the new zoning ordinance taking effect soon after. There will be a series of public hearings and meetings over the next few months to obtain public comment.
