Quinton Saum dosn’t buy into the saying that a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work — they’re one and the same to him. Saum graduated with the Walt Whitman High School class of 2005 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on Monday, June 6.
Like most of his classmates, Saum will go on to college. But Saum, a varsity golf player at Whitman, will study a golf management program at Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C.
Saum will pursue a passion he has held since the age of 2, as will his classmate Pallavi Mahidhara, a longtime piano prodigy who has performed internationally and on television.
One day after Whitman’s graduation, Angela Fan graduated with Thomas Wootton High School’s class of 2005, also at DAR Constitution Hall. Fan spent her high school interning and volunteering with doctors and scientists who specialize in cancer treatment and research. Fan is determined to help the medical community in its effort to cure cancer.
