Local area vendors are invited to the 2005 Loudoun County

Procurement's Buyer/Seller Information Exchange sessions. The purpose of these informal sessions is to give area businesses the opportunity to meet the county's procurement staff and become familiar with the county's procurement process. The next round of sessions are as follows:

* Wednesday, June 22, 10:30 a.m.

* Thursday, July 21, 2 p.m.

* Monday, Sept. 19, 10:30 a.m.

* Thursday, Oct. 20, 2 p.m.

* Friday, Nov. 18, 10:30 a.m.

* Thursday, Dec. 22, 2 p.m.

Loudoun Cooperative Extension, at the Loudoun Extension Office in Leesburg, is offering a seminar on Starting a Family Child Care Business Thursday, June 9, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Topics include getting started in family child care, zoning, advertising, contracts, arranging space, activity planning and preparing nutritious foods in family day care. $10 registration fee covers the resource manual provided to participants. The Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon announces that its Growth Acceleration Program (GAP) fund invested $100,000 in Mpowerplayer Inc., a Potomac Falls-based software platform company that has developed innovative proprietary technology that enables trial play and sale of games for mobile devices on a PC environment. GAP funds are used by the companies to advance technology development or move them to the next stage of business development.

PAETEC Communications Inc., announces that the company now offers its full array of services including local, long distance, Internet, data and managed services to Northern Virginia business customers, as service is now available in Culpeper, Frederick, Loudoun and Spotsylvania counties. In the mid-Atlantic region, PAETEC operates sales offices in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., along with a sales office and switch site in Sterling.
