Robert L. Walker, Sr. died Monday, May 23, in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover, Del. He was 84. Mr. Walker was born Aug. 8, 1920 in Lawrenceville. Son of the late Jack and Payy Walker, Mr. Walker worked for the Fairfax County school system from which he retired in 1985. He then moved to Dover, Del. in 2001 with his son and daughter-in-law. In addition to his parents, his wife, Christine Walker, preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Susan Walker of Dover, Del.; two daughters, Linda DuHart of Annandale and Shilrey Copeland of Suffolk, Va.; two sisters, Sally Ross of New York and Lucy Owens of Alberta; thirteen grandchildren and a host of friends.
The memorial service was held at Alfred Street Baptist Church, 301 South Alfred St., Alexandria, on Saturday, July 9.
