<sh>Board Approves Plan Changes
<bt>The Board of Supervisors approved three changes to the comprehensive plan in the Dranesville District during its July 11 meeting.
The first concerned a 4.4-acre piece of land near Fleetwood Road and Elm Street. The property currently allows for a mixed-use development of office and senior housing. The change deletes the requirement that the housing be restricted to seniors. It also restricts future housing to 50 units.
A second change is for a 2.6-acre property between Old Chain Bridge and Beverly roads. The land had been planned to allow retail uses and encouraged restaurant and entertainment uses. The plan now allows the construction of a 60,000-square-foot personal storage building, as long as it is designed to look like an office building.
The final change resolved conflicts between the Comprehensive Plan and the Zoning Ordinance for a large section of land in Great Falls between the Leesburg Pike and Potomac River. The language concerning the criteria for cluster subdivisions is now complementary in both documents.
