Ocean City Trip. One-day travelers will leave the Reston Community Center for Ocean City, Md., at Hunters Woods, at 6 a.m. and return at 9:30 p.m. Ocean City has 10 miles of sand-white beaches. Activities include swimming, bicycling, skateboarding, sunbathing, fishing, golfing, antique and outlet shopping, and a three-mile Boardwalk. The cost of the trip is $25 for people who live or work in Reston and $38 for everyone else. The price covers transportation and a trip coordinator. This trip is for people age 6 and older. Reston Festival 2005. Celebrate Reston’s 41st Birthday July 9 and 10, at Reston Town Center, beginning at 10 a.m. There will be activities for the whole family, including arts and crafts, children’s games and activities, food, a prize raffle, and musical entertainment from many local entertainers.

RCA Elections. Reston Citizens Association (RCA) will hold elections at the Reston Festival Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. Cast votes at the RCA booth at the Reston Festival and indicate preference on bringing the question of Reston town status as a referendum before the residents. Gaming Event. The Reston Community Center is presenting area teens with a no-holds barred tournament that will pit 64 of Reston's gamers in a fight to the finish in three intense video games at once. The event is 11 a.m.-8 p.m., at the RCC Hunters Woods. The winning gamer gets a $150 gift certificate. The entry fee is $10 for Reston residents and $20 for nonresidents. Railroad Open House. The Northern Virginia Model Railroaders Inc. will be holding an open house, from 1-5 p.m. Come and see the action on Northern Virginia's largest fixed operating "HO" scale model railroad. Featuring digital control, sound and smoke. Visit the W&OD railroad's real caboose. Concert. Nittany Trombone Quartet will present a recital, at 7 p.m., at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Dranesville Road, Herndon. The group formed in 1988 at Penn State and continues to perform together today. Stained Glass Studio. Reston Community Center's Open Stained Glass Studio will be held at the Hunters Woods RCC on the third Sunday of the month during the summer, from 1-5:15 p.m. An instructor will be on hand to give advice and encouragement. Attractions include a boardwalk, three amusement parks, two water parks and a lunch on the beach for no additional charge. The trip fee of $10 includes round-trip bus transportation, an all-you-can-eat lunch — barbecued chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, fruit, ice cream and sodas — unlimited admission to more than 150 rides and two water parks.
