A traffic stop of a motorist speeding through Centre Ridge early Tuesday morning led to the arrest of two men on drug and weapons charges. They are Samuel Carter, 47, of 6528 School House Road in Bealeton, and Robert Woolen Jr., 30, of 6612 S. Roxbury Mill Road in Spotsylvania.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m., when a Fairfax County police officer stopped a speeding driver at Upperridge and Fort drives in Centreville. Police say Carter, who was driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra, allegedly had a handgun in his pocket.
They say Woolen, the passenger, reportedly was also armed with a handgun and had drugs in his pocket. As a result, say police, "The officer searched the car and [allegedly] found an undisclosed amount of marijuana in the back seat."
Police charged Carter with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. They charged Woolen with the same thing, as well as possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute PCP and two counts of possession of a firearm while possessing narcotics. They were taken to the Adult Detention Center where Carter was held on $500 bond and Woolen was held on $5,000 bond.
