Lee District Supervisor Dana Kauffman's ninth annual open house will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, from 1-4 p.m. in the Helen Wilson Community Room of the Franconia Government Center, 6121 Franconia Road.
Initiated in 1996, the year he first took office, it was originally held at his home. However, after a few years, it was no longer practical to hold it there due to its size and popularity, according to Kauffman's office. It was then moved to the government center.
"For the past three years, we have been pleased to have an art show by the Springfield Art Guild as part of our open house," he said. This year, members of the Guild hung their painting on Jan. 3. They will remain on display until Feb. 25.
The show is in the public area of the center which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The artwork is available for purchase according to a price list at the show.
The open house is open to all constituents, friends and family. There will be refreshments available.
