Galilee United Methodist Church will be offering a Performing Arts Day Camp for rising second-sixth graders, July 25-29, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The final performance will be 7 p.m. Friday evening. Directed by The Leavening Agency, a Christian organization specializing in creative children's programming in churches and schools. There are no auditions and every participant is encouraged to choose what he or she wants to do: music: singing, hand chimes and rhythm instruments; performance skills: drama and acting; choreography: movement and sign language; stagecraft: scenery painting. The Boyd School, a Montessori Children’s House Broadlands Campus announces The Boyd School Summer Camp Program has been accredited with the American Camp Association (ACA). ACA is the only independent accrediting organization reviewing camp operations in the country.
This summer, The Boyd School-Broadlands campus in Ashburn and Westfields campus in Chantilly will each host Summer Camp 2005 for campers from 3 to 16 years of age including daily outdoor activities such as sporting games and swimming as well as indoor activities such as art and music. The Leader in Training program will also return where campers from 13 to 16 years of age participate but also assist with younger campers daily in a leadership role. the camp begins June 27 and will continue for eight weeks ending Aug. 19.
