Loudoun County Chapter of Jack & Jill of America Inc. is celebrating Black History month with its 2nd annual program honoring the legacy of black families in Loudoun County. This yearÕs theme is ÒMaking the Dream Possible through Community Service.Ó Wilson Townsend, a lifetime Leesburg resident, will be honored. The event will also showcase the children of Jack of Jill with moments in Black History and feature the nationally renowned Urban Nation H.I.P. H.O.P. A panel of local Tuskegee Airmen discuss their struggles and the history of the African American World War II fighter group in a day-long event that includes hands-on activities and story time for children ages 4Ð7, accompanied by their adult companion. Also features a special presentation and book signing by Gustavus McLeod, the first pilot to fly to the North Pole in an open-cockpit plane and recent Amazing Race contestant.
