Laura Jean Bhadra, assistant professor of economics, joined the faculty at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. She holds a doctorate from American University, a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Storrs and a bachelor’s degree from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. Her teaching experience includes two years at NVCC’s Loudoun Campus, where her husband, Dipasis, is an adjunct in economics. Both Bhadras taught at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 1994 to 1997 and co-authored “Red and Green: A Bangladesh Collage,” which covers economics, politics, culture and education. They live in Reston with son Mandip and daughter Sara.
