Summer art camp for children of all ages and skill levels continues at the Loudoun Academy of the Arts through Aug. 19 with weekly sessions in drawing and sculpting, cartooning, tile work, clay, art and literature and surrealism.

* Aug. 15-19, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Cartooning and animation or adventures in surrealism; 1-4 p.m. Clay creations or clay time.

The Loudoun Museum is holding a colonial summer camp for children ages 8-12. The camp is held Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m.-noon, and preregistration is required. Museum members receive a 20 percent discount on registration fees. Call Janis Golden, director of education, 703-777-7427. Colonial Camp, at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve, Aug. 15-19, $200. This camp lets children learn about life in colonial America first-hand through conducting a simulated archaeological dig, learning about the time's cultures and customs, and debating matters of independence.

The Audubon Naturalist Society is offering the following summer camps. Registration is required. All camps are held at the Rust Nature Sanctuary, 802 ChildrenÕs Center Road, Leesburg. Call 703-669-0000.

* Web of Life for children entering third and fourth grades in fall 2005. Aug. 15-19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Learn how the plants, animals, water, soil and sun interact with one another and how the web of life is maintained, affected or broken. Hike the grounds, play games and make crafts. Members $166; nonmembers: $220.

The YMCA Loudoun County is accepting registration for its 2005-06 after-school programs. The programs are held at Cool Spring Elementary, 501 Tavistock Drive, S.E., Leesburg; Evergreen Mill Elementary, 491 Evergreen Mill Road, S.E., Leesburg; Forest Grove Elementary, 46245 Forest Ridge Drive, Sterling; and Sterling Elementary, 200 W. Church Road, Sterling. The programs run after school until 6 p.m.; and cost $246 per month. Anyone registering through Aug. 29 receives half off the first month's tuition. Visit ymcawasdc.org.
