Residents try to keep cool at annual Community Day celebration on Aug. 6
<bt>Hundreds of Scotland residents gathered for their annual Community Day celebration Saturday, Aug. 6 in and around the Scotland Community Center. Montgomery County Police provided free bicycle helmets and bicycle safety information for children and Suburban Hospital — which has an ongoing partnership with Scotland — distributed health information.
Children enjoyed a moonbounce and other inflatables provided by the police, while some adults took part in a basketball tournament and dancing.
In nearly 100-degree heat, everyone stayed cool with snow cones and cold drinks.
