"Near Great Falls: Light, Land and Water." An exhibit of black and white photographs by Great Falls resident Jan Bender is on display at Great Falls Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike, through Sept. 14. Bender's photographs were taken over a two-year period on both sides of the Potomac River. There will be an opening reception for the public at Great Falls Library on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 1-4 p.m.
The 7th annual Share a Haircut Campaign will be held at all D.C. metro Hair Cuttery salons Aug. 1-15. For every child's haircut (up to age 18) purchased at a Hair Cuttery salon, Hair Cuttery will donate a free haircut to an underprivileged child.

The Master Singers of Virginia is taking auditions for its 11th season. Singers in all voice parts are encouraged to audition. The Master Singers is the premiere a capella choral ensemble in Northern Virginia concentrating in 20th and 21st century choral music. Arc of Northern Virginia now offers respite care at their Kidz Clubhouse in Great Falls. They offer after-school, evening or weekend care. Respite care is available for children of all ages with disabilities and their siblings. St. John Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, operates a thrift shop for all residents of Northern Virginia.
