Investigators Tuesday, April 19, released composite
sketches of two suspects wanted for the March robbery of a taxicab driver.
The driver, who works for the Red Top cab company says he was robbed in the early morning hours of March 11, as he dropped off two passengers in the Ashburn area, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The 47-year-old victim, who is from Washington, D.C., told authorities he picked up two men in the Arlington area who asked to be taken to an apartment complex in Ashburn.
The taxicab pulled over in the area of Ashburn Road and Stubble Road near the Fire & Rescue Company around 1:45 a.m. when one of the suspects told the driver to give up the money. The suspect then grabbed the victim and is alleged to have implied that he had a weapon.
The suspects fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
They ran towards the rear of the Fire & Rescue station placing them on a cul-de-sac called Glenhazel Drive in Ashburn Village.
The first suspect is described as a white male with blondish hair, 5 feet 9 inches-5 feet 11 inches in height and weighing 190-200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light blue jacket with a hood. He possibly goes by the name Mike. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches-6 feet in height with a slim to medium build. He was said have a very light complexion with a medium-style afro.
