Two Reston teens, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, were charged with raping a 14-year-old Reston-area girl, said a police spokesperson. Police served juvenile petitions to the two teens Sunday, April 10.
“The incident happened in a Reston residence,” said Mary Mulrenan, spokesperson for Fairfax County Police. The victim’s mother reported the incident on March 21 after learning of the sexual assault.
The victim, reluctant to report it, came forward when she learned that the two teen suspects may have assaulted other girls. “It’s possible there are other victims out there and if there are we’re hoping they’ll come forward,” said Mulrenan. The suspects are being held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
Anyone with information about this incident or others are asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or the police non-emergency number at 703-691-2131.
