A man charged with beating a woman with his fist and a stick and suspected of killing another woman eight months later will appear before a grand jury on the initial charge on April 11.
Daunteril Maurice Hall, 28, of Sterling, has been charged with felonious aggravated malicious wounding of a 29-year-old Leesburg woman on May 23, 2004 in Sterling. Commonwealth's Attorney James Plowman said Monday that probable cause has been found in that case. If a grand jury hands down an indictment, a court hearing will be held the next day, Plowman said.
Hall is a suspect in the murder of Sherine Williams, 24 of Sterling, on Jan. 23. Plowman said there is no hurry to charge Hall in the homicide, because he is being held without bond connected to the earlier incident and is off the street.
Her body was found in her apartment. Police have not disclosed the cause of her death.
