Alfredo Casta, president and CEO of Cascades Technologies, Inc. presented Vecinos Unidos with a $2,000 check to help the non-profit organization fund future computer programs for students.
"We decided to embrace somebody in the community," said Casta, about the second annual tennis tournament he organized in July to raise money for the organization.
Casta said although the tournament has been conducted the last six years, he has dedicated the last two tournaments to raise money for Vecinos Unidos.
Chris Griffin and Donald Owens accepted the check on behalf of Vecinos Undios, a program they helped initiate in Herndon.
Owens said the money raised will go to assist with the organization's after-school computer program at the Neighborhood Resource Center, and help them to buy more software for the current computers, among other items.
