Captain and Mrs. Joseph Hurley of Virginia Beach are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Brianne Joan Hurley to Benjamin Cooper Yancey.
Hurley is a graduate of Catholic High School, Virginia Beach and is presently employed in the hospitality industry in Mt. Dora, Fla., at the Lakeside Inn, Florida's oldest continually operated inn. Hurley is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hurley Sr., North Arlington, N.J., and Mr. and Mrs. James Cox (deceased), Kearny, N.J.
Yancey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Yancey of Alexandria, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yancey of Umatilla, Fla., and Hubert (deceased) and Edith C. Cooper, Georgetown, Ky.
Yancey graduated with honors from High School from the Emerson Institute, Washington, D.C. He is also a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, Norfolk. Yancey is employed as a chef at the Lakeside Inn in Mt. Dora, Fla., and is beginning a catering business in central Florida.
A wedding is planned for Oct. 30 in Virginia Beach. The couple will reside in Umatilla, Fla. after the wedding.
