<lst>The following incidents were reported to the City of Fairfax Police Department.

<cal1>Arrest / Shoplifting

<cal2>4080 Jermantown Road / Kmart. On Oct. 17 at 2:41 p.m., an employee observed a female removing the price tags from clothing and then placing them in her child’s stroller. The suspect then left the business without paying for the items. The suspect was stopped by a store employee and the police were called. She is identified as Maritza Maribel Amaya Carranza, 24, of the 2500 block of Chain Bridge Road, Vienna.  She was charged with Petit Larceny and released on a summons to appear in Fairfax City Court on Dec. 20.

<cal1>Attempted Larceny

<cal2>10100 block of Mosby Woods Drive. Sometime between Oct. 20 and Oct. 21, unknown person(s) gained entry into a vehicle. Once inside, the vehicle was ransacked.  However, nothing appears to have been taken from the vehicle.

3500 block of Schuerman House Drive. On Oct. 22 at 5:52 a.m., the homeowner heard a noise outside of his garage. Unsure of the noise, the complainant pounded on the wall. He then heard footsteps outside and when he looked, he observed three subjects running from the side of his house. Upon investigation, he found that the subjects were attempting to remove his air conditioner from the home.

<cal1>Larceny

<cal2>9998 Main St. / Son & Moon Yoga Studio. On Oct. 12 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., unknown person(s) stole several credit cards from a purse left unattended in the business.

9865 Lee Highway / Anchorage Motel. Sometime between Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, unknown person(s) broke into a soda vending machine and stole the money from inside.

10000 block of Mosby Woods Drive. Sometime between Oct. 20 and Oct. 21, unknown person(s) stole the car stereo from a vehicle. A roadside safety kit was also stolen.

10675 Lee Highway / Paul VI High School. On Oct. 19 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:11 p.m., unknown person(s) stole the car stereos from three vehicles parked at the school.

10100 block of Sager Ave. Sometime between Oct. 13 and Oct. 15, unknown person(s) stole a Clarinet from the front porch of a residence.

10675 Lee Highway / Paul VI High School. Sometime between Oct. 14 and Oct. 18, unknown person(s) stole several letters from the school sign located at the entrance to the rear of the high school.

10313 Lee Highway / Suburban Auto Body. Sometime between Oct. 13 and Oct. 14, unknown person(s) stole engine parts off of a vehicle parked at the business for repairs.

3900 block of Bradwater St. Sometime between Oct. 14 and Oct. 15, unknown person(s) stole the car stereo, several music CD’s and a backpack from a vehicle.

10398 Democracy Lane / Probation & Parole. Sometime between Oct. 14 and Oct. 15, unknown person(s) damaged four vehicles parked in the parking lot of the business. One of the vehicles did have an item stolen from it. There are no suspect(s) at this time.

3800 block of Bradwater St. Sometime between Oct. 14 and Oct. 15, unknown person(s) stole the two front turn signals off of a vehicle parked in front of a residence.

9508 Arlington Blvd. / Payless Shoe Store. On Oct. 15 at 8 p.m., a Hispanic male came into the business. An employee noticed that he was wearing a brown pair of shoes. A short time later, the employee observed the suspect wearing a pair of running shoes. As the employee attempted to block the door and stop him from leaving, the suspect pushed him out of the way, running from the store. The employee lost sight of the suspect and then returned to his store to call the police. Officers responded and searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect. There is no suspect at this time.

<cal1>Stolen Auto

<cal2>11044 Lee Highway / Pizza Hut. On Oct. 15t at 8:54 p.m., a delivery person parked his red 1993 Honda Civic in front of the business, unlocked with keys still in it. As he returned to his vehicle to make a delivery, he observed a black male driving away in his vehicle with a white male in the passenger seat. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.

10620 Lee Highway / Fairfax Chrysler Plymouth. Sometime between Oct. 1 and Oct. 11, unknown person(s) stole a gold 2000 Cadillac SLS from the dealership. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.

<cal1>Vandalism

<cal2>10700 block of Howerton Ave. Sometime between Oct. 16 and Oct. 17, unknown person(s) drove a vehicle through the front yard of a residence damaging the grass.

9566 Lee Highway / Monroe Brakes & Muffler. Sometime between Oct. 18 and Oct. 19, unknown person(s) attempted to force open the trunk on a vehicle, damaging it.

10620 Lee Highway / Fairfax Chrysler Plymouth and

10612 Warwick Ave. / Webb Signs. On Oct. 17 between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m., unknown person(s) spray painted graffiti on an exterior wall of the car dealership. As the officer was taking this report, he located another business that had also been vandalized with graffiti.
