First there was Hayfield, then Belle View. Now, Curves customers can work out at the new location in Sacramento Center. Open as of Sept. 27, the new exercise facility for women, located at 8794-I Sacramento Drive, is already filled with both new and transferred members.
“It’s super clean and quiet. You get a feeling of privacy,” said Mary Palmer, a long-time member who transferred from Belle View.
Wendy Toy is also using the new facility, and said she likes Curves because “it’s very convenient — and fun.”
Like the other two locations, the new location is co-owned by Heather Shrouds and Veronica Howard. Howard is excited about this location because it has more room than the other two. While they squeeze in a weight management class in their Hayfield location, they definitely do not have room for that in Belle View, she said.
Members from both Belle View and Sacramento are now taking advantage of the classes that started a couple of weeks ago. As an added bonus, Studio 116 in Old Town, Alexandria is offering free makeovers to five women from each location that meet their goals of weight management. These classes run six weeks and require membership at Curves.
Howard is looking forward to the 3rd Annual Kingstowne Faith 5K Run/Walk that will be held this Saturday in Kingstowne. Curves is a sponsor and employees will be there helping runners with stretching.
Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Curves is waiving the registration fee for the next week when new members show proof of a recent mammogram.
