Three Loudoun County schools will lose their principals in transfers to three new schools.
Robert Duckworth, currently principal of Algonkian Elementary School in Sterling, will oversee the Legacy Elementary School in Ashburn. He joined the Loudoun school district staff in 2001.
Dawn Haddick, principal of Arcola Elementary School in Aldie, will supervise Pine Brook Elementary School in Aldie. She joined the county in 2000. Arcola Elementary will be demolished and replaced with a bigger school.
Julie Boyd, principal of Ashburn Elementary School, will manage Newton Lee Elementary School in Ashburn. She joined the county in 1998.
Superintendent of Schools Edgar Hatrick said their new jobs start in January and the schools will open in the fall.
