The Belmont Ridge Middle School Players presents the musical "Barnum," featuring nearly 90 studnets, Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., with a matinee showing Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m., at the school, 19045 Upper Belmont Place, Lansdowne, at the entrance to the Xerox Center. Tickets are $5 in advance and can be reserved by calling 703-669-1450 or $7 at the door.

Eagle Ridge Middle School, 42901 Waxpool Road in Ashburn, will host the first Lego League Northern Virginia Regional Tournament Nov. 20-21. The tournament will feature 24 teams of children and mentors demonstrating their problem-solving skills, creative thinking, teamwork, competitive play, sportsmanship and sense of community. The event is free and open to the public; and begins each day at 10 a.m. in the school's gymnasium and ends at approximately 2 p.m. Concessions will be available from the school's PTO. Belmont Station Elementary School students, all 557 of them, sang three songs at the schoolÕs official dedication ceremonies Oct. 14. The ceremony was attended by parents, teachers, school staff, Schools Superintendent Edgar Hatrick and members of the community.
