Bryce Whittington graduated from the Air Force basic training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. He is continuing with his technical training in air transportation and will be stationed at Pope AFB in North Carolina. Whittington is the son of Brandon and Beth Whittington of Alexandria, and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2001.
Air Force Airman Vincent E. Chidester has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. He is the son of Earl Chidester of Alexandria, and a 2002 graduate of Thomas Edison High School.
Air Force Airman Nathaniel W. Whitehead recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Whitehead is the son of Charles Whitehead of Alexandria and Bonnie Hayden of Eau Claire, Wis., and a 2004 graduate of Mount Vernon High School.
Navy Midshipman Frederick R. Yonkman recently completed Plebe Summer at the United States Naval Academy. Yonkman has begun four years of preparation for commissioning as a Navy or Marine Corps officer. Yonkman is the son of Barbara R. Sullivan of Alexandria and Fred A. Yonkman of Stamford, Conn.
