Crime Notebook

The following incidents were reported by the Alexandria Police Department.

FELONIOUS ASSAULT:

700 block of N. Washington Street. Oct. 31, 9 p.m. A 48-year-old Alexandria man was walking on Washington Street when he passed a large group of juveniles. The suspects began to throw water bottles, one of which hit the victim in the face, and an egg that struck the victim in the back of the head. The suspects then ran away. The victim's injuries were serious enough that he had to be treated at Inova Alexandria Hospital. The suspects were described only as being young black males.

Intersection of Duke and N. Paxton Streets. Oct. 31, 9 p.m. A 41-year-old Alexandria man, as walking home when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects struck the victim in the head with a baseball bat or some type of wooden club. The victim fell to the ground and another blow was delivered to his head by the suspect with the bat. Both suspects continued to assault the victim while he was down by kicking him repeatedly. The suspects then fled from the area on foot. The victim was taken to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he is was treated for his multiple non-life-threatening injuries. Suspect No. 1 is described as a black male, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, 350-400 pounds, and was wearing a white tank top, dark sweat pants and white sneakers. Suspect No. 2 is described as a black male.

3800 block of Executive Avenue. Oct. 31, 4:40 a.m. A 22-year-old Alexandria man was walking home when he was approached by two men. One of the suspects was armed with a large stick and struck the victim in the face. After the assault, the suspects fled on foot. The victim was taken to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injury. The suspects were described as being Hispanic males wearing dark clothing.

ROBBERY:

5400 block of Taney Avenue. Oct. 29, 10:30 p.m. A 43-year-old Alexandria woman was approached by a man. The suspect grabbed her purse and forcibly removed it from her arm before running away. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male.

5500 block of N. Beauregard Street. Oct. 30, 3 a.m. An 18-year-old Alexandria man was attacked and robbed while walking across a parking lot. Three black males exited a black vehicle and approached the victim. The suspects punched the victim, knocked him to the ground and continue to assault him. One of the suspects pulled out a razor blade while the other suspects stole his keys and a cellular telephone.

6000 block of Edsall Road. Nov. 1, between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. A 47-year-old Alexandria man, was in a parking lot unloading his car when two suspects approached him. They held an object the victim believed to be a knife against his side and demanded his wallet. The victim gave the suspects cash and they both fled. The victim was not injured. Suspect No. 1 is described as a black male, 15-20, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet, 160-180 pounds, and wearing a tan, hooded coat. Suspect No. 2 is described as a black male, 15-20, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches, 150-170 pounds and wearing a dark, hooded coat.

200 block of Reinekers Lane. Nov. 1, 8:25 p.m. A 35-year-old Alexandria woman, was walking to her car in the parking garage when she was approached by a man. The suspect attempted to grab her and the victim ran towards her car. As she ran, the victim threw the bag she was carrying at the suspect and entered her car. The suspect then fled from the parking garage area on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 25-40 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, 190-200 pounds, wearing a dark shirt and jeans. The victim was not injured.

BURGLARY:

3300 block of Old Dominion Boulevard. Between Oct. 29, 7 a.m., and Nov. 3, 8 a.m. The resident, a 36-year-old Alexandria woman, returned home from a trip and discovered someone had gained entry to her residence by undetermined means. Nothing was missing, but her car had been damaged. Investigation reveals that someone had driven the car, a 2002 BMW X5, and damaged the front end, wheel and tire, and then returned it to the garage. Witnesses report seeing an unidentified suspect staying at her home. The suspect is described as a white male, unshaven, 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 4 inches, and 220-250 pounds.

5000 block of John Ticer Drive. Nov. 3, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Someone gained entry to the residence through an unlocked door. Once inside, the suspect stole a cell phone.

5700 block of Dunster Court. Between Nov. 3, 6 p.m. and Nov. 4, 6:30 a.m. Someone forced open a door to gain entry to the residence. Once inside, the suspect stole money.

300 block of Ashby Street. Between Nov. 3, 11 p.m. and Nov. 5, 11:30 p.m. The suspect gained entry to the residence through a window. Once inside, he stole electronic equipment, a bicycle and other items. Police located a suspect nearby and arrested him. Elmer Lee King Jr., 39, of Alexandria, was charged with burglary and grand larceny. He is being held without bond at the Alexandria jail.

300 block of Yoakum Parkway. Nov. 4, between 6:45 p.m. and 10 p.m. Someone cut through wire to gain entry to the storage area of the residence. Once inside, the suspect stole luggage.

4900 Seminary Road. Between Nov. 5, 9:30 p.m. and Nov. 6, 4:30 p.m. Someone gained entry to the business by breaking through a wall. Once inside, the suspect stole money.

3600 block of Edison Street. Nov. 5, 11:30 p.m. - Nov. 6, 6:30 a.m. Stolen: 2000 Honda Accord, four door, green.

Unit block of S. Van Dorn Street. Nov. 5, between 9:30 a.m. and 9:34 a.m. Stolen: 1978 Ford F-100, pick-up truck, red.

2800 block of Duke Street. Nov. 8, between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Stolen: 1995 Mercury Marquis, four door, gold.

500 block of S. Washington Street. Nov. 3, between 3 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. Stolen: 1995 Volvo 850, four door, blue.

4600 block of Kenmore Avenue. Nov. 3, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. Stolen: 1996 Honda Accord, four door, tan.

5300 block of Duke Street. Between Nov. 1, 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 3, 12:20 p.m. Stolen: 1995 Plymouth Neon, two door, green.

4700 block of Kenmore Avenue. Between Nov. 1, 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 2, 6:32 a.m. Stolen: 1994 Honda Accord, four door, green.

5200 block of Sanger Avenue. Between Oct. 31, 9:30 a.m. and Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m. Stolen: 1994 Honda Accord, four door, white.

400 block of N. Armistead Street. Between Oct. 31, 8 p.m.-Nov. 1, 8 a.m. Stolen: 1995 Honda Civic, two door, red.

6100 block of Edsall Road. Between Oct. 31, 10:30 p.m. and Nov. 1, 7:30 a.m. Stolen: 1999 Honda Civic, two door, dark green.

400 block of N. Armistead Street. Between Oct. 31, 8 p.m. and Nov. 1, 5 a.m. Stolen: 1995 Honda Civic, two door, blue.

100 block of Clermont Avenue. Nov. 1, between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Stolen: 1998 Infiniti Q45, four door, green.

Unit block of Duke Street. Oct. 30, 2:10 p.m. Stolen: 2003 Ford Taurus, four door, blue.

600 block of N. Payne Street. Between Oct. 29, 8:30 p.m. and Oct. 30, 9 a.m. Stolen: 1995 Mercury Sable, four door, green.

5000 block of Seminary Road. Between Oct. 27, 10:30 p.m. and Oct. 31, 3:30 p.m. Stolen: 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, four door, black.

600 block of N. Armistead Street. Between Oct. 29, 11 p.m. and Oct. 30, 4:45 p.m. Stolen: 2003 Dodge Caravan, white.

400 block of S. Lee Street. Oct. 28, between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Stolen: 1999 GMC van, white.

400 block of W. Glebe Road. Nov. 3, between 7:15 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. Stolen: 1997 Honda Civic, four door, silver.
