Amadeus Concert Season to Begin

The Amadeus Orchestra will begin its 2004-05 season with a concert at the McLean Presbyterian Church on Friday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m., featuring guest harpist Bridget Kibbey of the New York Philharmonic.

The concert will feature Mozart’s Overture to “The Abduction from the Seraglio,” Haydn’s Symphony No. 94 (“Surprise”), and Dances for Harp and Orchestra by Debussy, according to information from Tim Rowe, founder and musical director of the Amadeus Orchestra. Soprano Jessica Swink and Baritone Jason Stearns will perform.

Also featured in the five-concert season is “A British Music Hall,” to be held Jan. 9, 2005, at St. Francis Parish Hall in Great Falls; “The Art of Patricia Hall” will be the focus of a Feb. 20 concert at St. Francis. On March 20; “A Two-Piano Extravaganza,” featuring Byougho Han and Minna Han performing works by Bach, Schubert and Prokofiev, will be held at Hardman’s Hall in Great Falls; and the final concert of the series is a performance of Tchaikovsky on April 17 in a location to be determined.

All concerts are at 4 p.m., with the exception of the season-opening concert on Nov. 19, which starts at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets for the opening concert are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students and are available at the door.
