<lst>Navy Midshipman Robert A. Wells, a 2003 graduate

of Yorktown High School, recently completed Plebe Summer

at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., and has begun four years of preparation for commissioning as a Navy or Marine Corps officer. All midshipmen will receive a bachelor of science degree upon completion of their training at the Naval Academy.

Courtney E. Natter recently completed Plebe Summer at the United States Naval Academy and has begun four years of preparation for commissioning as a Navy or Marine Corps officer. All midshipmen will receive a bachelor of science degree upon completion of their training at the Naval Academy. Natter is a 2004 graduate of Bishop O'Connell High School.

Karen L. Bune, of Arlington, has successfully met the requirements for designation as a Fellow of The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Fellowship is the highest honor the academy can bestow and is awarded to professionals who have made significant contributions to the field and to the academy. Bune is an adjunct professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at George Mason University in Fairfax and Marymount University in Arlington. She is employed by the State’s Attorney’s Office for Prince George’ County, Md., where she works as a victim specialist in the domestic violence unit. She is also a nationally recognized consultant and speaker on victim issues.

Roland R. Foss graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash. The focus of the course is to develop and evaluate each cadet's officer potential as a leader. Foss is the son of Robert T. and Margaret Foss of Arlington.

The Opera Guild of Northern Virginia has named singer Robert Tudor its 2004 Artist of the Year. The guild also presented the Mary Shand Rule Art Teacher of the Year Award to Glebe Elementary School teacher Stacey Lewis and cited three music teachers. The Bettie Keiger Music Educator of the Year Awards went to Joe Puzzo, a music teacher at Arlington Science Focus School, Maritza Mascarenhas-Sadowsky of St. Agnes Catholic School in Arlington, and private voice teacher Loretta Giles.
