JNF volunteers will call D.C.-area households to let them know how they can help Israel, particularly regarding the potential to continue strengthening the country by developing communities and employment opportunities in its arid Negev region and continuing to develop a sophisticated water-resource infrastructure throughout the country.
The Green Sunday Phone-a-Thon takes place, 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m., at the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, 6101 Montrose Road, in Rockville. Students can received community service credit for participating. Volunteers work different shifts throughout the day.
