The big show is on the National Mall. But Alexandria and Mount Vernon are also paying tribute to "The Greatest Generation" this Memorial Day weekend. Here's where to go and what to see.

Memorial Day Holiday Schedule for Fairfax County
On Monday, May 31, the county government is closed. Citizens recycling and disposal facilities at I-66 and I-95 will run on a regular schedule. Courts, County Community Centers, Senior Centers and Teen Centers will all be closed. County trash collection will operate on a regular schedule.
The Fairfax Connector will run on a Sunday schedule. There is no service for Fastran. Libraries will be closed and the Park Authority RECenters will close at 6 p.m. However, the George Washington RECenter, 8426 Old Mt. Vernon Road is closed all day.
Schools and school offices will also be closed on Monday.
