Northern Virginia Visitors Consortium, in an effort to support the America Celebrates the Greatest Generation initiative, has organized three special events for World War II veterans and their families who are not able to personally view the National World War II Memorial Dedication taking place on the National Mall Saturday, May 29.
The events will be held, free of charge, in three air conditioned, wheel chair accessible, and historic locations: The National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly; Mount Vernon's George Washington's Estate and Gardens in Mount Vernon; and the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria. Thanks to the generosity of Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems North America, Inc., tickets are free and can be obtained by calling 1-800-432-1792.
Veterans attending any of the three simulcasts will be honored. The Northern Virginia Visitors Consortium is comprised of the tourism bureaus from the cities of Alexandria and Fairfax and the counties of Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William.
