The following incidents were reported by the Herndon Police Department:

ASSAULT

400 block of Patrick Lane. At 5:56 p.m. May 10, the complainant reported being struck by an acquaintance two days prior. No injuries were observed. Warrant procedures were advised.

700 block of Cordell Way. At 11:04 a.m., May 11, the complainant advised that she had an argument with an acquaintance. The acquaintance then came to her house and began pounding on the door making threats to assault her. Warrant procedures were advised.

700 block of Birch Court. On May 15 at 7:37 p.m., the complainant was in the process of towing a vehicle when the owner came and began to argue. The owner went back inside his house and returned with a machete, and approached with it brandished. Jose Gustavo Hernandez Montes, 41, of Herndon, was arrested for assault. He was transported to the Fairfax County ADC and held on a $1,000 bond.

1200 block of Magnolia Lane. At 1 a.m. May 16, Jose Acuna, 37, of Herndon, was arrested for striking an acquaintance. He was transported to the Fairfax County ADC.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

Jackson Street/Van Buren Street. At 9:44 a.m. May 10, Graffiti was spray painted on a sign.

500 block of Florida Avenue. At 12:25 p.m. May 10, a screen window was reported as damaged.

0600 block of Dulles Park Court. At 7:21 a.m. May 11,

graffiti was spray painted on a wall.

400 block of Elden Street. At 11:13 a.m. May 11, a tire valve stem was reported as cut on a parked vehicle.

200 block of Elden Street. At 11:30 a.m. May 11, four tires were cut, and the hood, front bumper, and passenger door were damaged on a parked vehicle.

600 block of Elden Street. At 10:15 p.m. May 14, two front tires were cut on a parked vehicle.

700 block of Tamarack Way. At 9:37 a.m. May 15, four tires were cut on a parked vehicle.

LARCENY

400 block of Elden Street. At 7:21 a.m. May 10, Damian Roderick Barden, 25, of Sterling, was arrested and released on a summons for shoplifting.

400 block of Elden Street. At 9:21 p.m. May 10, two black males attempted to take a television from a store.

400 block of Elden Street. At 2:55 May 11, Jeffrey Caplan, 18, of Sterling, a 17-year-old female of Sterling and a 17-year-old female of Herndon, were arrested for shoplifting. Caplan was released on a summons for shoplifting. The juveniles were released to parents. Petitions to be obtained at a later date.

400 block of Elden Street. At 5:45 p.m. May 11, Anuj Sareen Phull, 19, of Herndon, was arrested and released on a summons for petit larceny and identification fraud after being found with a fraudulent document.

300 block of Holly Court. At 6 a.m. May 12, a window was reported as broken on a parked vehicle and a computer bag was taken.

400 block of Elden Street. At 6:07 May 12, Mauricio Menjivar Monge, 26, of Reston, was arrested and released on a summons for shoplifting.

700 block of Van Buren Street. At 2:54 a.m. May 14, a white male took a carton of cigarettes.

1000 block of Elden Street. At 12:35 May 14, a subject entered the store, took a tip jar and ran from the store.

400 block of Elden Street. At 3:14 p.m. May 14, A 17-year-old male of Herndon was arrested for shoplifting. He was released to a parent.

800 block of Ferndale Avenue. At 5:30 p.m. May 14, a 13-year-old male was caught after taking cash from a parked vehicle. The subject was released to his parent.

400 block of Elden Street. At 7:14 p.m. May 14, Edwin Oswaldo Orozco, 28, of Herndon, was arrested and released on a summons for shoplifting.

700 block of Tamarack Way. At 7:15 a.m. May 15, a wheel was taken from a parked vehicle.

700 block of Elden Street. At 8:26 p.m. May 15, the complainant left his vehicle unsecured and running. Upon returning he found it had been taken. The vehicle is described as a '94 Honda, two door, with Virginia license YEM-3468.

400 block of Elden Street. On May 15 at 11:15 a.m., Roas Maria Cruz Lizama, a 31-year-old female of Reston, was arrested and released on a summons for Petit Larceny.

1000 block of Elden Street. On May 15 at 1:10 p.m., a subject left without paying for gas.

800 block of Ferndale Avenue. On May 15 at 8:18 p.m., an unsecured 18 speed mountain bike was taken.

400 block of Elden Street. On May 16 at 4:02 p.m., Herber Vargas Trejos, 26, of Annandale, was arrested and released on a summons for petit larceny.

BURGLARY

700 block of Cordell Way. On May 11 at 7: 39 a.m., Eugene Lura Curry, 33, of Herndon, was arrested for breaking & entering and grand larceny after entering a house through a screen window and taking car keys. He then used the keys to take the complainant's vehicle. He was transported to the Fairfax County ADC and released on his signature.
