By all accounts McLean Day was a rousing success this year. The annual event is held at Lewinsville Park to celebrate the town.
“McLean Day was spectacular this year. We’ve had rain for the past three years so this was wonderful,” said Sabrina Anwah with the McLean Community Center, which sponsors the festivities.
“Tons of people came out. I just can’t imagine how it could have been any better,” said Anwah. Results from the election of the governing board at MCC will be posted soon. Voting for open seats is held during McLean Day.
Resident Noreen Thimons said, “Every year its fun. This year is no exception.”
Dranesville district supervisor Joan DuBois turned out for McLean Day to meet her constituents and enjoy the variety of local vendors at the event. “I think it went very well. It didn’t rain so I’m pleased that I brought the sunshine,” said DuBois who recently took over as district supervisor. “There were a lot of parents and young kids out having fun with bright red faces,” DuBois said.
