A 43-year-old man is wanted in Alexandria for domestic assault and battery and is also wanted in Fairfax County on a number of felonies including malicious burning.
The suspect, Eun "Charlie" Ho Kwak, is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 190-200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a burgundy polo shirt. He allegedly has made threats to his ex-girlfriend, Hye Moon, 42, of Fairfax County.
According to police, on Sunday, May 9, at around 4:15 p.m., a woman was working at Jenny’s Beauty Care, 7257 Maple Place in the Annandale area. She heard a loud noise and saw Kwak breaking through the front glass doors with a metal pipe. Kwak, a former boyfriend, entered the business and assaulted the victim. He then poured a flammable liquid on the floor and set the store on fire. The victim and several customers were able to escape without injury. Kwak fled the area on foot.
Police officers and Fairfax County fire investigators conducted a joint investigation and warrants have been obtained, charging Kwak with two counts of burglary, malicious burning, and additional charges.
