Maison et Jardin in Great Falls celebrated its Grand Opening recently with an open house. Attending the evening event was Walpole Woodworkers president and owner Lou Maglio. Maison et Jardin and Walpole Woodworkers are partnered at the Great Falls Center location.
“This is as far south as we’ve gone. We are excited to be here in Northern Virginia and have wanted to be here for some time. We knew this location was perfect,” said Maglio.
Walpole Woodworkers is known nationwide but is perhaps most recognized for providing all the fencing for the television program “This Old House.”
Maison et Jardin has been open in the new location for only a short time but has already attracted a number of new clients due to the visibility of the store and the European-style garden atmosphere that’s been created.
“This is really lovely. The transformation of this space is incredible. There’s now a lovely garden in the middle of the complex, where it used to be concrete and a few benches,” said customer Sharron Cline.
“That’s what we wanted to create here. That feeling like you want to come sit and relax,” said owner Betsy Owen.
Maison et Jardin is selling some flowers out of the beautified store front but is concentrating on the design aspects being offered. Examples of the work that can be done, or arranged through Maison et Jardin, are on display both in the store and on the corner exterior. These include lavish fountain displays and examples of the woodworking and masonry possibilities that are available.
