The Martin Luther King, Jr. Christian Church is holding its Spring Revival on April 14-16. The guest minister is the Rev. Carl E. Davis, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Ken-Gar, Kensington, Md.  The revival time is 7:30 p.m. each night. Refreshments will be served immediately following each service.

The Church of the Good Shepherd will sponsor a rummage sale including toys, books, furniture and boutique items on April 17 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at 2351 Hunter Mill Road in Vienna. Proceeds benefit church outreach activities. For more information, call 703-281-3987.

Anyone living or working in Reston is invited to an ecumenical Christian service on Good Friday, April 9, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Washington Plaza Baptist Church at Lake Anne Village Center. Participating clergy will include the Rev. Sandi John of Washington Plaza Baptist Church, the Rev. Clarence Davis of Martin Luther King, Jr. Christian Church, the Rev. Dr. Bruce Irwin of the United Christian Parish, the Rev. Terry Hannon of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, and the Rev. Debra Peevey of Ministries of the Heart. Musicians will include harpist Susan Lindsey and Dean Jenkins, who will play

piano and synthesizer. The church will remain open from 1 to 3 p.m. for individual prayer and meditation.

St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Reston will hold the following services during Holy week. On Maundy Thursday, April 8, there will be a service of the Holy Eucharist with foot washing, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Good Friday, April 9, will be observed with services at 12 noon and 7:30 p.m. The celebration of Easter begins on Holy Saturday, April 10, with the great vigil of Easter at 8 p.m. Services on Easter Sunday, April 11, are scheduled for 7:45, 9 and 11:15 a.m.

St. Timothy's Episcopal Church will offer the following Holy Week services: Maundy Thursday service will be held on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. On April 9, Good Friday the Stations of the Cross will be conducted at 12:15 p.m. and evening ecumenical services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Palm Sunday services will be held on April 4 at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each of the services on Palm Sunday will begin with a walk of the Palms into the Sanctuary. Free childcare will be available during the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. On Easter Sunday, April 11, St. Timothy's will celebrate with three services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. Complimentary coffee and fellowship will follow each Palm Sunday and Easter service in Henry Hall. Free help is available by Fairfax County for Spanish speaking parents and guardians through the Nurturing Parenting Program, held at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Herndon. These session are scheduled every Tuesday until Aug. 17. Each class is from 5:30-8 p.m. Dinner is served and free childcare will be provided. These meetings will be conducted in Spanish and are designed to help families with children age 0-4. The program is designed for the entire family. Now through April 11, Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon is participating in 40 Days of Purpose, a spiritual growth Campaign based on the New York Times best-selling book, "The Purpose Driven Life," which is designed to answer life's most important question: "What on earth am I here for?" During the Campaign, participants will read short daily readings from "The Purpose Driven Life," hear sermons each week that correlate to the readings, and will have the opportunity to join a Purpose Driven Life small group Bible Study at Floris United Methodist Church at 2730 Centreville Road in Herndon. On the first Sunday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Washington Plaza Church hosts a Christian discussion group reinforcing God’s love for the GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered and Questioning) community and the people who love them.
