2nd Lt. Chris O'Brien, son of Sherry and Richard Yuras of Herndon, has completed the Infantry Officer Basic Course as well as Army Ranger Battalion Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He has been assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy. O'Brien is a 1999 graduate of Herndon High School and a 2003 graduate of Cornell University.
The Jenny Boyle Band, a local band, has been playing clubs in the
Mid-Atlantic region for the past eight years. They recently received
an invitation from Armed Forces Entertainment to tour Egypt, Sinai,
Jordan, and Turkey. They will be leaving on Friday, March 26
for a two-week tour, returning on April 8. Jenny Boyle, vocalist, is a Springfield/Burke resident; Josh Burgess, guitar, is from Waterford; Sean Bradley, drums, is a resident of Herndon; Chris Roque, guitar, and Jeff Reed, bass, are both Baltimore residents.
