<bt>An accident at the start of morning rush hour on Wednesday, resulted in two injuries. According to Fairfax County Police spokesperson William Walker, a Ford Probe was traveling north on the Fairfax County Parkway around 5:20 a.m., when it drifted off the road to the left. The driver, Michael Dicicco, 26, of the 7400 block of Dorothy Court in the South Run area, over-corrected and the car swerved to the right, landing upside down in a ditch on the right-hand shoulder.
According to Walker, the passenger, Jennifer Smith, 22, of the 3900 block of Bentwood Court in the Fairfax area, was not wearing a seat belt. She was partially ejected from the vehicle and was later admitted to the intensive care unit at Inova Fairfax. Dicicco was taken to Inova Fairfax with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident occurred in the Pohick area, near the intersection of Hooes Road. Police say that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash and Dicicco was charged with driving while intoxicated. Gene Taitano of the police reconstruction unit was on the scene shortly afterward. The accident remains under investigation.
