Hunting Ban Approved
<bt>The Reston Association Board of Directors approved an extended ban against hunting in the community. Several residents had asked RA if they could hunt deer with bows and arrows on their personal property, so the board clarified its rule to prohibit hunting on any property subject to the Reston deed. Citing the impact on local wildlife and concerns about safety, the board unanimously adopted the resolution at its meeting last Thursday night. The ban does not extend inside of a residential unit, however, because it is outside the jurisdiction of the Reston deed. "You can still hunt mice and stuff within your own home," joked Larry Butler, RA's director of parks and recreation.

<bt>There are many more interested buyers than there are available homes in Reston, with buyers making concessions such as waiving homeowner inspections, providing sellers two to three months free rent and offering more than the listing price, reported Ray Leonhard, Reston Association's acting executive vice president. In the last five months, RA has processed 823 disclosure packets for Reston residents selling their homes, representing a 21 percent increase. A record 227 disclosure packets were prepared in May alone.
