William Zivich of Burke was recently recognized by the Boy Scouts of America for having earned the Venturing Gold Award. Venturing is the Boy Scouts of America's youth development program for men and women between 14 and 20. Zivich earned the award after successfully completing all required components of the award.
He has been active in Scouting for the past 11 years. A senior at Lake Braddock High School, Zivich is a member of Venturing Crew 1100, which is sponsored by the Church of the Nativity. In addition to his Scouting interests, Zivich has been active in school as a member of the Lake Braddock golf team and Christian Athletic Fellowship. In the fall, he plans to attend the University of West Virginia, where he will major in mechanical engineering.
