One suspect is in custody and police are still looking for another in the rape that occurred nearly two weeks ago on the Holmes Run bike path in Alexandria.
Alexandria police arrested Jose Daniel Bonilla, 28, of 3307 Beechcraft Drive in Fairfax County, on Friday, July 9. He has been charged with rape and is being held without bond at the Alexandria jail.
Police are still looking for Rigoberto Ramos, a 23-year-old Prince William County man. A warrant for his arrest has been issued, charging him with rape. Ramos is considered to be armed and dangerous because of his history of weapons violations and the violent nature of the rape. Ramos is known on the streets as Barbito but also uses the name Ismael Alberto Murcia. He is known to frequent the Route 1 corridor as well as Prince William Plaza, the Culmore-Falls Church area and Columbia Pike.
Ramos is a white Hispanic male with dark hair, 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He may have recently shaved his beard. He has tattoos on his chest and two on his back. He may be driving a green 1996 Honda Civic hatchback with Virginia tags JHD-5704.
Anyone with information about Ramos’ whereabouts is asked to call Alexandria police at 703-838-4444.
