Naturalists ages 3-5 years old and their parents are invited to come to the Temporary Road Pavilion at the intersection of Temporary Road and North Shore Drive, from 10-11:30 a.m., for the annual Gooney Bird Migration. Puppeteer and Gooney Bird expert Judy Brown will brief visitors on the elusive Gooney (funny bird maximus) and show children how to make a "Gooney Bird" marionette to take home. The Reston Community Center is sponsoring a trip to the U.S. Open, in Flushing, N.Y., Sept. 4 and 5, including seating for the Saturday morning, Saturday evening and Sunday morning sessions.
