Police Still Searching for Pair in Sexual Assault

Victim attacked along bike path.

Alexandria police need the public’s help in identifying and locating two men who are wanted in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in the city last Friday.

The two men held a 22-year-old Alexandria woman at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her on the Holmes Run bike path between N. Latham and N. Pickett streets on July 2.

The first suspect is a white Hispanic male, 27 to 30 years old, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighing between 180 to 200 pounds. He has a stocky build. He has black hair that is wavy on the top and shorter on the sides and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue denim shorts.

The second suspect is a white Hispanic male with a darker complexion than the first suspect. He is 27 to 30 years old, approximately 5-feet, 9-inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds with a stocky build. He has short coarse black hair and was last seen wearing a blue mesh New England Patriots jersey and blue denim shorts.

AFTER ASSAULTING the victim, the suspects fled from the area in a black, two-door Honda Civic coupe. Witnesses described the vehicle as a 1997 to 1999 model with white wheels, a rear spoiler and clear tail light covers. Detectives ask that anyone who recognizes these suspects or observes this vehicle to call Alexandria police at 703- 838-4444.

There is an increased police presence throughout Holmes Run Park but walkers and joggers and cyclists are encouraged to be extra vigilant and to report all suspicious activities.
