Hundreds of area residents descended on downtown Fairfax to catch the annual Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 3. From the Shriners to the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Youth Choir to the Fairfax High School Rebel Dance Team, Fairfax citizens and their neighbors throughout the county marched through Old Town streets displaying their patriotism. Other activities, like the Old Fashioned Fireman's Day, the Cops and Kids on Bikes Ice Cream Social, and the fireworks display occurred later in the day.
