Thomas J. Fitzpatrick, president and chief operating officer of Sallie Mae, was the keynote speaker at Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's monthly luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Reston. The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization sponsored by Sallie Mae, announced a $5,000 donation to the Have a Heart: Give a Book Drive, co-sponsored by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. The donation benefits the South Lakes Pyramid in an effort to spread the fun of reading to the community's local schools. New, age-appropriate books will be accepted through Feb. 29 at the Greater Reston Chamber, Reston Community Center, Whole Foods Market in Plaza America and Long & Foster Realtors on Wiehle Ave.
