Allie Johnson-King, a resident of the Little River Glen Senior Center turns 100 on Dec. 25. Johnson-King was born in Alabama and lived most of her life in Cleveland before moving to Fairfax two years ago. While in Cleveland, she volunteered for 30 years with the Cleveland Sight Center.
“My happiest days are now,” she said.
Johnson-King is a member of the Fairfax Church of God and is very proud of her faith. “I wish everybody could be a Christian,” she said. She had six children, although only one remains alive. She also had 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
When asked for a piece of advice, Johnson-King replied, “Hard work in the world will not kill you.”
