Einhorn Yaffee Prescott, an architecture and engineering firm in Washington, D.C., has promoted Arlington resident Kara Strong to the position of associate. Strong is an architect and project manager with more than 12 years of experience and is working on several projects for the Library of Congress.

Arlington-based Virginia Commerce Bank recently opened a new branch. The Walney branch is located at 4221 Walney Road in Chantilly, and is the 15th for the company. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Dec. 16, about a month after the branch’s Nov. 15 opening.
