Teens Arrested for Robbery

<bt>A 16-year-old boy was robbed and the suspects arrested shortly thereafter, according to Fairfax County Police. On Tuesday, Aug. 10, around 4:30 p.m., the victim was walking within the 2200 block of Castle Rock Square in Reston when he was approached by three boys. Two of the boys allegedly struck the victim in the head and upper body numerous times while the third boy attempted to hold the victim. The three suspects then took cash and a camera from the victim and left the scene. The victim summoned police and a description of the suspects was broadcast over police radio. Within minutes, an officer on patrol located all three suspects, two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, and placed them under arrest. They were transported and detained at the Juvenile Detention Center where petitions for robbery were issued for all three suspects.

<sh>Lake Anne Meeting

<bt>Supervisor Catherine M. Hudgins, (D-Hunter Mill) will host an informational meeting to discuss the consultant that has been selected for the Lake Anne Study at the Reston Community Center, 1609-A Washington Plaza, Aug. 25, from 7-8:30 p.m. The Basile Baumann Prost & Associates (BBP Associates), an economics and real estate development advisory firm out of Annapolis, Md., has been selected to provide consulting services for an economic analysis of the Lake Anne area surrounding historic Washington Plaza of the existing conditions of the physical infrastructure, land ownership, market and financial conditions to determine the need for future revitalization of this area.

<sh>No Practice Swim

<bt>The practice swim, which was to take place at Lake Audubon prior to the upcoming Reston Triathlon Sept. 12, has been canceled due to insurance reasons.
