<cl>Ten members of the Fellowship Bells of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, under the direction of Brian Wilhour, recently attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers. Held at the Waterside Marriott in downtown Norfolk, the handbell choir participated in a massed ringing event and concert with more than 500 bell ringers from throughout the county. The participants were Joanne Paul-Wolfe, Irene Minich, Patty Hamsher, Nina Toups, Marilyn DiLoreto, Nancy Stansberry, Becky Abbot, Sally Simms, Ann Hings and Brian Wilhour.

McLean Women's Bible Study, a non-denominational study that meets on Thursday mornings in a member's home in McLean, is opening membership for study sessions to begin mid-September. The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer celebrates a contemporary service at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, supplementing its traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Modern praise music is sung, accompanied by a band of nine musicians on electric keyboard, bass and acoustic guitars, trumpet and drums.

The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in McLean will host Rally Day, a day of celebrating common purpose and reviving strength, on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 9:30 a.m. The general public is invited to attend.
