The students at Dranesville Elementary accumulated 9,000 television-free hours during the week of April 18-24, in honor of National TV Turnoff Week. Their reward: Principal Lucinda Romberg had to kiss Daisy, a potbellied pig.
Last Friday, Romberg puckered up as the student body, broken up into two assemblies, looked on. The students had been challenged to accumulated 2,500 television-free hours. The youngsters also got a chance to give Daisy a peck on the snout.
