A new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system, made by Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging, is in operation at Virginia Tech's Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg. The standing MRI Unit is one of only two such units in the United States and the only one available in the eastern United States, according to Dr. Nat White, the Theodora Ayer Randolph Professor of Surgery and interim director of the Equine Medical Center.

Loudoun Cooperative Extension is offering a seminar on "Starting a Family Child Care Business" to provide caregivers with the tools to develop a successful home based child care service. Topics in the "Starting a Family Child Care Business" seminar will include getting started in family child care, zoning, advertising, contracts, arranging space, activity planning, and preparing nutritious foods in family day care.
